About
LSD Studio / Gallery is an interior design practice and contemporary craft gallery in Austin's 2nd Street District, founded by Liz Swaminathan.
The Studio creates interiors grounded in material honesty and craftsmanship. Each project begins with how people actually live — their rituals, their objects, their relationship to light and space — and responds with design that improves with time and use.
The Gallery presents rotating exhibitions that explore the line between art and the lived environment. Featuring independent makers from the US, France, Italy, Japan, and beyond, each exhibition investigates materiality, craft traditions, and how objects shape daily experience. Work is meant to be touched, used, and lived with — not just observed.
Founder
Liz Swaminathan founded LSD Studio / Gallery to bring together the making traditions she values most — French craftsmanship, Japanese material sensibility, and the independent makers reshaping contemporary design. Her practice is rooted in the belief that spaces and objects should reveal their construction, develop character through use, and serve the rituals of daily life.
